Engagement ( Tika-Tala ) 

The Nepali Hindu engagement ceremony is called the Tika-tala. It is the first and foremost step toward marriage.This ceremony fix the marriage ceremony.The groom side go to bride’s house or banquets to perform engagement ceremony. Main responsible person from bride’s family put tika to groom and to all people of groom side. There will be exchange of gifts ( Sagun ) ( nowadays rings and jewelry are mainly preferred ) between bride side to groom side. Then they enjoy the ceremony by eating, drinking, dancing and enjoying themselves. Mainly nowadays people are enjoying by cutting cakes too which is not the part of Nepalese culture . After that photo shoot program is done by both sides of bride and groom.

Then they prepare for marriage ceremony.
